Ming is my go to guy – I’ve recommended countless friends and they in turn have all recommended others. Honest, thorough and good; I’ve driven off the dealership lot when I found out something was out of warranty because I’d rather have the hassle of making two trips to have Ming and team do it right.

I took my cars to Ming’s for 10 years and always got quality care and repair there. The only reason I don’t go there much anymore is that I moved across the river and I’m in a Mfg. warrantied car at the moment.
I’ve been to garages that use shady methods and prey on people’s ignorance of automotive matters to bleed money out of them. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. If Ming’s tells you there’s a problem they are being honest and that’s a big deal when you’re looking for a good shop.

I started going to Ming when living in Allston 5 years back. After moving to Waltham, I tried someone else…BIG mistake. Ming is honest, explains the repair work with patience and reasonably priced.

Great service! I brought my ’98 Jetta there about a year ago. It was barely running and struggled to just get to the shop.
I was expecting grim news after I dropped it off. However, Ming called me back with a prompt estimate. What I really liked was he then emailed me an itemized estimate with all the recommended services in PDF format. Everything was very transparent that way. The repairs were pricey all totaled, but the hourly rate was reasonable for the amount of total work that I needed done.
When I went to pick up my car I was most impressed that they had also taken it for a wash and vacuum, since it was downright filthy when I dropped it off. Very pleased!
7 Months later my car is still running no problem, which I frankly think is a miracle for a 10 year old VW.

I have been going to Ming’s Auto Repair since the late ’90s and trust Ming completely – in fact, he was the person who finally told me when it was time to say goodbye to my much-loved old car rather than continuing to put money toward repairs! His work is impeccable and well-priced, and he explains everything.

I have to admit, after reading the reviews here, I was a little worried. But I figured that the convenience of the location was worth the risk. And I am glad to have tried them!
Compared to my previous experience at VW dealers, Ming’s service was excellent. Not only does Ming’s get the work done cheaper, they even noticed that my aftermarket rims were secured improperly with the original bolts…AND they corrected that with very minimal cost. Having studied engineering, their assessment that the bolts were improper made a lot of sense. What surprised me was that the dealers never noticed that!
I certainly will be going back there again!

I’ve been going to Ming’s for years and even though I’ve purchased a new vehicle and therefore my trips are far less frequent, i still go for oil changes and inspections. Ming and his team are honest, fast, and reliable and, i love the monthly deals they have!

I have been going to Ming for close to 8 years. I have recommended him to many friends who are all now loyal customers of his. His service is excellent and his prices are fair. Ming provides detailed explanations of why your car may needs particular services and parts. If something is not fixed properly, his work is guaranteed and will promptly take care of it (I think this has happened to me once). My favorite story to tell about Ming and his level of service is that one time my car work wasn’t completed on time & I had to drive to a wedding in upstate NY. I was a bit frantic about not having my car and Ming actually lent me his car to drive to the wedding. Talk about service!! I can’t recommend Ming enough.
